My Village by Rimzim Dadu
Surrounded by reams of fabric since birth, Rimzim Dadu learned the art of garment making at the feet of her father. Her family-run export house, created in the basement of her New Delhi home, was her first learning ground and was the genesis of her own path-breaking brand – ‘My Village’. Dadu’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection is inspired by the traditional Patola weave technique of sari making from Gujarat and is primarily created from leather which has been stripped and created into cords that have subsequently been appliqued onto the clothes to form this pattern.
Signature Look: Experimental textures, reimagined fabrics, and deconstructed clothes.
