The Studio K
Hyejin Hong, the talented designer behind The Studio K, received a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the Rhode Island School of Design in Massachusetts. Shortly thereafter, she moved back to Seoul and started her label, The Studio K. The brand is inspired by the urbanization of the modern world, which is in turn influenced by the designer’s philosophy of harmony between technology and design. Hyejin Hong believes in combining different fabrics in one look to create what she believes are more interesting designs. She is unwavering about not compromising on quality, particularly in her tailoring.
The concept behind The Studio K’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection is Both Sides Now. It describes an imaginary place - the gap between land and the unknown world under the ocean, and attempts to show audiences a place where these two sides meet. The collection incorporates a variation layer technique, which is typically used for 3D video arts.
Signature Look: Multiple fabric combinations and tailored silhouettes.
